Off To The Coast
It was a last minute decision but the kids got a special weekend at the Oregon Coast. We found a hotel and head out. The kids had a great car ride thanks to the portable DVD player. If you have kids and do not have a portable DVD player I highly recommend one for the long car rides. Where were those when I was smashed in the back of a seven passenger station wagon. The kids really took to the water even with the water temperature being just above freezing. I think the kids had more fun in the hotel rooms. After a successful first night we decided to change hotels and found a great deal. We booked a room online and were upgraded to an ocean view because our room was not ready. Early check in is the key for free upgrades. I was also very proud of Matthew as he took another step towards manhood. He told me he had to go to the bathroom but all the stalls at the store were occupied. We only had the stand up options available. I am proud to say that my son has learned how to stand when using the restroom. Sorry there will be no pictures of this monumental moment. All in all it turned out to be a great weekend. I love watching the kids smile when the experience new things. They really appreciate all the little things.

At The Zoo
With Memorial Day weekend arriving it was decided to take opportunity of the Oregon sunshine and head to the zoo. The kids area always pretending to be various animals around the house so we thought they would enjoy seeing them again. It was a beautiful day. The kids really enjoyed the bird show during the lunch break. They enjoyed popcorn, ice cream, and icees while they were there. It was the full zoo experience. Their little legs still tire out easily so we had to get the double stroller to haul them around. This provided an unwanted workout for those pushing the stroller throughout the day. We decided to get the year pass so the kids will have ample opportunity to fine tune their animal calls.

A Day At The Park With Dad
I had the opportunity to take the kids to the park one morning before work and took along the camera to catch all those special moments you wish you had captured. Truth is I got a new camera the night before and with the sun shining bright I thought it would be a good time to try it out. I am very happy and so are the kids.
Visiting the Stubbs Ranch
Brooklyn and Matthew Celebrate
With their birthdays less then 30 days apart, Brooklyn (4) and Matthew (3) decided to share their celebration and opted for a day at Chuck E. Cheese. With a little help from dad the the kids were able to collect enough tickets to exchange for some fantastic prizes. Matthew did manage to get lost in the the tunnels and decided the quickest way to get out would be to scream as loud as he could. With the promise of a cup full of tokens dad was able to convince another child to head in the maze for operation Rescue Matthew. Brooklyn stood by and got a little pleasure out of seeing her younger brother trapped. I think she thought it was the best birthday present ever.
